Membership

The Women’s Chamber is an advocacy platform established to reduce and eliminate the economic challenges of Afghan women and the problems faced by businesswomen. It works toward creating a healthy and fair environment in Afghanistan and strives to empower women to play an active role in the sustainable economic growth and development of the country.

 

Vision: An Afghanistan where national and international institutions have a proper understanding of women entrepreneurs and the role of Afghan women in sustainable economic development.

 

Mission: The Afghanistan Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries operates through effective representation to promote and secure the economic interests of Afghan women at national and international levels.

 

Goal: To create a suitable environment for women’s businesses in the private sector so they can contribute to Afghanistan’s economic development.

 

 

Membership Conditions

 

  1. Women-owned companies, women traders, and craftswomen with valid commercial, industrial, agricultural, mining, or service licenses can obtain membership through a defined procedure.
  2. Women holding professional licenses can obtain membership.
  3. Associations, unions, cooperatives, and other institutions whose members are engaged in economic, commercial, industrial, agricultural, mining, service, or professional activities may voluntarily obtain membership under the following conditions:
  4. a) Having an activity license from the Ministry of Justice or relevant authority in accordance with relevant laws.
  5. b) Membership request approved by at least one-third of founding members who have legal and permanent residence in the country.
  6. c) No outstanding tax liabilities.
  7. Non-profit organizations working with a large number of women in economic empowerment, income generation, and business creation may obtain membership.
  8. Membership is granted after acceptance of the provisions of this charter and payment of the required membership fee.
  9. Honorary membership is granted to individuals who have rendered outstanding services for the growth and economic development of women and strengthening of the Women’s Chamber.
  10. Members operating in multiple provinces may obtain membership in the Women’s Chamber of those provinces and benefit from its advantages.
  11. Each member has the right to run for the board of directors of provincial chambers in only one electoral constituency.
  12. Honorary members enjoy all benefits except voting rights.
  13. Male-led companies or companies with a majority of female employees may obtain membership.
  14. Members have the right to withdraw; however, membership fees and contributions are non-refundable.

  1. Add My Voice Membership – 2000 AFN annually
  2. Advocate Membership – 5000 AFN annually
  3. Economic Rights Advocate Membership – 10000 AFN annually
  4. National Partner Membership – 25000 AFN annually
  5. Pioneer Membership – 60000 AFN annually

 

Types of Membership (Provinces)

 

  1. Add My Voice Membership – 1000 AFN annually
  2. Advocate Membership – 3000 AFN annually
  3. Economic Rights Advocate Membership – 6000 AFN annually
  4. National Partner Membership – 16000 AFN annually
  5. Pioneer Membership – 30000 AFN annually

 

Honorary Membership

 

Experts from all sectors for the purpose of growth and capacity building of members and cooperation with the Women’s Chamber may obtain honorary membership.

Students of all fields may also obtain honorary membership to gain knowledge and skills from professionals.

 

Institutional Membership

 

  1. Institutions with up to 500 employees – 25000 AFN membership fee
  2. Institutions with more than 500 employees – 50000 AFN membership fee

 

Supportive Membership

 

  • Small companies (up to 200 employees) – 100000 AFN
  • Medium companies (up to 500 employees) – 1500000 AFN
  • Large companies (more than 500 employees) – 2500000 AFN

 

Conditions:

 

  1. Companies led by women
  2. Companies with majority female employees
  3. Commitment to women’s economic empowerment
  4. No expectation of direct services from the chamber

 

Member Rights

 

  1. Access to information and participation in training programs
  2. Introduction of women to national and international programs
  3. Participation in domestic and international exhibitions
  4. Meetings with high-level government and non-government officials
  5. Promotion through chamber platforms

 

Obligations & Disciplinary Measures

 

  1. Mutual respect and good conduct
  2. Fulfillment of commitments made with the Women’s Chamber
  3. Regular participation in meetings
  4. Providing accurate and comprehensive information
  5. In case of violations:
  6. Verbal warning
  7. Written warning
  8. Termination of membership

 

Membership Duration

 

  1. Membership duration is one year
  2. Membership can be renewed after expiration

 

Note: A 10% discount is considered for rural women economic empowerment groups

Copy of license, ID (Tazkira or passport), two photos and soft copies, charter, bank/personal information, educational documents

 

Final Notes

 

  • Membership is valid until the end of the following year after payment
  • Fees are non-refundable
  • Cancellation is only possible within 24 hours after payment
