Based on MoU between Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Live Stock (MAIL) and AWCCI, Second 2018 exhibition of Bazar-e-Roz was held in Farmer’s Fair and 2018 Spring AgFair on March 22-24, 2018 in Badam Bagh. The exhibition was attended by high delegations from different organizations such as, H.E. Mr. Nasir Ahmad Durani Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), H.E. Mr. Abdul Hamid Helmandi Chief Advisor on Agriculture and Development to H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Ms. Freshta Sarwari Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries (AWCCI) Board of Directors and AWCCI team participated.
This festival held every year on the second day of the new solar year. Where farmers from different provinces of Afghanistan placed their products for expo and sale. In this vocation women businesses also participated and placed their products for expo and sale. Holding such exhibition help people to familiar with local products, and by purchasing from them encourage their work and efforts.
Farmer’s Fair event was opened by recitation of Holy Quran and playing National Anthem of the country. H.E. Mr. Nasir Ahmad Durani inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon. H.E. Mr. Nasir Ahmad Durani welcomed all the participants and presented his speech. H.E. Minister stated at the event that new cold storage facilities and irrigation networks will be built and many other facilities will be provided to farmers this year. H.E. also added, “In order to increase farmer’s products, the ministry of agriculture continues its efforts to overcome lack of water in 30 provinces by building 257 irrigation networks”.
In his speech of H.E. Mr. Abdul Hamid Helmandi, he said, “Agriculture has not been mechanized in the country. Products will increase and agriculture will meet standard norms if this happened”.
30 women entrepreneurs who are members of AWCCI keenly participated in this exhibition. They exhibited and placed their products for sale such as handicrafts, carpets, shoes, Sandals, hats, begs, wallets, dried vegetables and fruits, various types of jams and pickles, saffron, honey, and ornaments. This time women businesses also had great sales. Afghan women entrepreneurs expressed satisfaction about holding such exhibitions. Women entrepreneurs from Samangan, Parwan and Bamyan specially showed their satisfaction from AWCCI efforts, struggle and hard work for supporting women businesses.
In those three days of exhibitions, AWCCI team had evaluation In a message Ms. Narmin Hashimi a business woman and one of AWCCI member said that she wish for holding such exhibition in other major provinces of Afghanistan as well that businesswomen from Kabul participate there and familiar with their products, custom, market demand and see other business opportunities.
