After the opening ceremony of Balkh-Istanbul & Europe cities air corridor program inauguration ceremony, on Wednesday January 09, 2019, AWCCI North Zone-Balkh had the honor of hosting the Deputy Minister of Private Sector and Industry Development of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC), Mr. Zuhoroddin Shirzada in the Balkh Directorate of Industry and Commerce. The purpose of meeting Mr. Shirzadas was bringing businesswomen requests together and meeting 13 businesswomen including Executive Director and members of the Chamber.
At first, Ms. Tamana Fariwar, Zone Manager of AWCCI-North welcomed all participants. Moreover, she asked all presenters of different businesswomen group to have speech on what they want to request. As continuing, all of them talked and had their recommendations. The main recommendations of Balkh businesswomen were as follow: lowering the electricity payment of Rabia-e-Balkhi market, important business practical training of Balkh businesswomen, with the MoIC conduct practical standard packaging training of their products, a permanent exhibition for women’s products in Balkh, creating facilities for women in Balkh to benefit from industrial parks, solving the legal problems of Balkh women’s market for its better management, giving chance for more businesswomen of Balkh at international exhibitions outside the country by the cooperation of the MoIC, and with the necessary coordination of the ministry with Balkh businesswomen to get the government contracts.
Furthermore, Mr. Shirzada thanked all Balkh businesswomen for their business activities and asked them to pay more attention for bringing innovations, different products, working with observing all the business standards on their products and go for big business activities such as men. Because these women have the necessary capacity and should use them. Mr. Sherzada said that Balkh businesswomen have 25 percent share in Balkh industrial park that will be equal to 1,000 Acres.
Mr. Shirzada talked about a plan of Private Sector and Industry Development of the MoIC for improvement of businesswomen activities in the country, especially in the provinces. He further added that the plan focuses more on the development of professional skills of women in business and it will be implemented with assistance of AWCCI in Kabul and other provinces in 2019.
