This time Bazaare-e-Roz was part of international AgFair 2018 on Oct 3, 4 and 5 in Badam Bagh, Kabul. Based on the MoU with Private Sector of Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, AWCCI has facilitated the participation of 30 women businesses by installing 30 portable booths in Badam Bagh. Farmers and businesses of both men and women participated in this exhibition from all over the country.
H.E. Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, had visited the businesses and the products by Afghan farmers in this exhibition. He appreciated the hard work of farmers and said, “I appreciate all farmers’ hard work, especially that of Businesswomen and women farmers, because these women have changed their lives, that of their children and that of all Afghan women”. He thanked women on behalf of the First Lady and other women in high ranks. The President emphasized that women can have enormous role in Afghanistan Economic Self-Reliance Process, because they are the manager of the families’ expenses. He added, if we have progress of 30% in producing Fruits and Food products in the country every year, we will no longer need to import Fruits and Food products from abroad. The President said that we have to focus on four parts, Finding Market for our products, Promoting the country products by government procurement, Establishing Associations to connect rural areas to the cities, and addressing the Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock, to focus on agricultural progress of all provinces of Afghanistan not only Kabul.
At the end of the exhibition, the President inaugurated the AgFair 2018 by cutting the ribbon and visiting the products by farmers and women businesses. Women businesses from AWCCI members in 30 booths, on average sold 15,000 AFS in this exhibition.
