Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AWCCI) celebrated its one year of existence, International Women’s Day and its new collaborations and partnerships, at AWCCI office in Kabul, Afghanistan on 13th March, 2018. In this event government dignitaries, entrepreneurs and AWCCI Board of Directors and team participated. H.E. Ms. Kamila Sediqi Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology ATRA Directorate Director General Ms. Zarghona Jalalzai, Afghanistan Central Business Registry and Intellectual Property (ACBR and IP) Director Mr. Tariq Ahmad Sarfaraz, Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA) Director General Mr. Naqibullah Faiq, representative from AIB, entrepreneurs and media participated.
The Master of ceremony was Ms. Parwarish Oryakhail, The Business Development Services Director of AWCCI. The event started with the recitation of few verses of Holy Quran by Ms. Zainab Abdullahi. Later on the event was opened with remarks from H.E. Ms. Kamela Sediqi, where she emphasized on the importance of having institutions such as AWCCI to provide fundamental support to women-owned businesses and ensure others are doing substantial work in the country. She said “Ministry of Commerce and Industry considers AWCCI one of its major partners in developing Afghan women in private sector”.
In this event AWCCI signed a number of Memorandum of Understandings with the following organizations which all will lead to substantial initiatives to improve women-owned businesses in Afghanistan.

- Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL)
- Department of Handicraft, Ministry of Commerce
- Kabul Municipality
- Afghanistan International Bank
- Roshan Telecommunication Company
AWCCI launched its Volume 2 booklet of member’s profile and its Annual report of 2017 and a research on potential areas of investment in Afghanistan.
Besides, AWCCI presented on the new accomplishment of
Afghan government and AWCCI the 5% preference for women businesses in national procurement and Mr. Hotaki Chair of National Procurement Authority received a BIG Thank you board, signed by AWCCI members. AWCCI also thanked and appreciated the following individuals and companies through an appreciation letter Ahmad Fahim Dedar, Akbar Arghandiwal and Sulaiman Fatimie for taking part in equipping AWCCI Kabul office as well as RICGISO (Rawan Quality Assurance Analyst PVT.LTD.)/ASHNA International and Advance Accounting LLC for working with AWCCI in its Business Expansion and Standardization Program.
At the end of program Ms. Manizha Wafeq President and one of Founder of AWCCI thanked all the participants and emphasized on AWCCI work and more achievements in the future. She also added that after that we will have Juma Bazar (Friday Market) in 1st and 3rd Macroreyan Parks. And this Juma Bazar will be based on provinces such as Juma Bazar of Parwan, Juma Bazar of Balkh, Juma Bazar of Nangarhar etc. Through these Bazars we will be able to see different products of different provinces of our country.
