LEAD’s Board of Directors chair and members along with executive team met with the H.E. Adela Raaz Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the purpose of the meeting was to introduce LEAD and to discuss on bilateral cooperation between two organs and to strengthen the partnership with finance deputy minister of foreign affairs.
at the beginning, Ms. Raz welcomed the Director and members and pointed out to the significance of the private sector in the politics and economy of the Government of Afghanistan, and assured the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in solving business women’s problems that raising by LEAD.
Also, Ms. Adela stated that one of the discussion subjects in Brussels conference is empowering women and supporting them in private sector, and supporting private sector, especially women entrepreneurs, is among the important priorities of the Afghan Government, and we will not hesitate in cooperating and empowering women in political, economic, and security areas, especially private sector and trade.
resulting that Ms. Raz promised that she will make sure to have LEAD’s representatives in their policy making meetings and will share drafts of the policies with LEAD for considering gender issues and women’s better inclusion in all programs, and they have agreed that the LEAD and MoFA shall sign a MoU.
