The fifth Balkh Public and Private dialogue in about the Balkh Provincial Business Agendas

The fifth Balkh Public and Private dialogue about the Balkh Provincial Business Agendas was conducted by Balkh Women Chamber of Commerce and cooperation of Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) on January 31, 2019 at the Conference hall of Balkh Directorate of Industry and Commerce. The purpose of the dialogue was to review the challenges of Balkh business sector mainly Balkh women-owned businesses. In this meeting, government organizations Directors were invited such as: Mr. Abdul Satar Beikzadeh, Director of North Carpet Weavers Association, Mr. Sher Ahmad Sepahizadeh, Director of Balkh Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Mohammad Sharzada, Head of Balkh Employees Association, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Mozhda, Head of Teyor Poultry Company, Mr. Atiqullah Wahabzadeh, Vice president of Balkh Municipally, Ms. Qandi Amaki, Board member of AWCCI-Balkh, Mr. Haji Mayel, National Businessman, representative of Balkh Women Affair and Agriculture Directorate of Balkh and some other people and government organization representatives were participated.

This session started with warm welcome of AWCCI-Balkh Zone Manager and as continued representative of CIPE in North zone Mr. Farhad Sultani discussed on Balkh business men and women challenges and suggestions. The lack of government support from Balkh business sector, exist of  corruption in business activities of the province, expensive cost of business license extension for  women owned businesses of Balkh, lack of national businessmen support for small and medium women-owned business,  high  electricity costs in women owned businesses in manufacturing area , existence of business mafia in international exhibition that creates problems for women, lack of attention for improvement of Rabia Balkhy women’s market and on some other problems of business community of the province which where the most major straggles of them, has been discussed.  The CIPE office in cooperation with Balkh Women Chamber of Commerce will follow up the challenges ad suggestions of Balkh business community which raised in the meeting with relate organization and for that reason, in the near week the CIPE will conduct a national meeting in Kabul to solve the problems.
