AWCCI's leadership from Kabul, Herat, Mazar, Kandahar and Jelalabad met H.E. President and H.E. First Lady today on Dec. 31, 2018 at Arg.
Afghanistan Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AWCCI) that was approved for three years in the High Economic Council's 41 meeting of March 12th, 2017 got approved forever today at the meeting with the H.E. President for which a new decree will be issued tomorrow.
AWCCI presented below recommendations and H.E. President provided specific instructions:
- Implementing the trademark "Made by Afghan Women" - H.E. President instructed to issue a letter to MoIC (Ministry of Industry and Commerce) on this matter that AWCCI should handle this trademark fully.
- Allocation of 5-10 contracts every year to implement the 5% preference clause of the Procurement Policy - H.E. President instructed that Chair of National Procurement Authority may look at this issue and at the same time women can organize themselves in consortiums to ensure us of their ability responding to bigger contracts.
- Women's Markets in 10 provinces should be handled by AWCCI in order to turn to them to design and packaging centers. H.E. President requested for a thorough plan for this otherwise it is approved.
At the end, an Appreciation board signed by all leadership of AWCCI was given to H.E. President and H.E. First Lady and Ms. Manizha Wafeq showed them a new packaged and value added dry fuits by one of AWCCI board members.
